WOODS FIRE FROM DOWNED POWER LINE

At approximately 5:26 PM on Friday, June 28, 2019, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 responded to a woods fire on Hudson St. Extension in Pearl River. We arrived on scene to discover a pine tree had fallen taking down the power lines starting a woods fire. This occurred shortly after a large gusts of wind moved through. The fire started spreading quick with the winds but it was contained to less than an acre. The fire was extinguished and several homes were without power. The tree was cut and removed from the roadway.
