In 2017, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 received certification from the Louisiana Office of the State Fire Marshal that the fire district meets the requirements pursuant to LA RS 40:1563 C. (2) to be a certified Fire Prevention Bureau in the state of Louisiana.
St. Tammany Parish and the Town of Pearl River, Louisiana adopted fire codes to provide the city with rules and regulations to improve the public safety by promoting the control of life safety and fire hazards. Both the Parish of St. Tammany and the Town of Pearl River have adopted the most current edition of the National Fire Protection Association Fire Code NFPA 1 and NFPA 101.
The St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 Fire Prevention Bureau is tasked with conducting Fire & Life Safety inspections, conducting fire and explosion investigations, provide public fire & life safety education, provide information to the public and the media and other necessary projects and assignments.
