PUBLIC EDUCATION: UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

On Thursday, October 16, 2014 we made a visit to the Pearl River United Methodist Church. Prior to our visit to the church class, the teachers had already been teaching the students about fire safety such as dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency, stop drop and roll, firefighters are our friends, crawing low under smoke, as well as the type of equipment firefighters use. During the visit on this day, we recapped on much of what these very smart students already knew and expressed the importance of remembering and practicing this knowledge. The students and adults were treated to a tour of the fire engine where they got to see all of the equipment and tools we use and crawl through the cab of the fire engine.
