LARGE WOODS FIRE

On Friday, October 24, 2025 , our units responded to a significant woods fire that originated near West Thorner Road  within our fire district. The fire quickly spread into St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 7 , advancing toward Chris Kennedy Road . Multiple agencies, including neighboring fire districts and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry , collaborated to contain the blaze. At several points, the fire approached residential areas; however, thanks to the swift and coordinated response, no homes were damaged and no injuries were reported . The cause of the fire is currently under investigation  by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. In the days following the incident, rainfall in the area helped extinguish remaining hotspots and further stabilize the situation.
