I-59 VEHICLE FIRE

(CLICK FOR VIDEO) The afternoon of July 31, 2024, an alert driver noticed a pickup truck traveling southbound on I-59 with smoke and flames coming out of the bed. The driver reported it to 9-1-1, and eventually, the driver of the truck pulled over once he noticed the smoke and flames. Our units received the call shortly after 2 p.m. and arrived on the scene to find the truck heavily involved in flames. The fire was extinguished, and the situation was placed under control. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
