FIRE DANGER

Neighboring fire districts have been fighting woods fires the last few days. With the hot temperatures and lack of rain, the Department of Agriculture and Forestry has placed St. Tammany Parish in the High Fire Danger category. Please use extreme caution if you must burn or put it off until we could get some measurable rainfall. We are NOT currently under a burn ban but that is certainly possible should the dry conditions persist. Fires that get out of hand could spread quickly. Also please do not flick cigarette butts, dispose of them appropriately.
