If you haven't done so already, we know many will begin to decorate for fall and Halloween. Please keep in mind a few safety tips in regards to decorations. These apply both to residential and businesses. - Dried flowers, cornstalks, hay bales, and crepe paper catch fire easily. Keep all decorations away from open flames and other heat sources like light bulbs, heaters, and vents. - Limit quantities of combustible vegetation such as hay bales and corn stalks. - Only listed electrical lights and wiring shall be used on natural or artificial combustible vegetation and other similar decorations. - Do not discard smoking materials such as cigarettes near combustible materials and decorations such as hay bales. - Remember to keep exits clear of decorations, so nothing blocks escape routes. - Make sure all smoke alarms in the home are in working conditions.
