CANAL RESCUE TRAINING

(PHOTOS & VIDEO) On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, several members of our fire district, along with representatives from a few other fire districts, participated in specialized training focused on canal rescues and extricating people from vehicles partially submerged in water or on flooded streets. Our fire district has encountered these types of incidents, as our area is home to several bodies of water. During periods when the river is high, various locations around town and along the interstate can become dangerously deep. This training is an essential demonstration of our commitment to keeping our community safe. The training was conducted by Gulf States Dive and Rescue, an organization that specializes in this field.
