SERVICE 111 IN SERVICE

Since it was placed into service in the middle of October, our brand-new Service 111 has run several calls already including its first structure fire this past Saturday. Today we brought the apparatus to Pearl River High School to show it off and to formally introduce it to the community. Special thanks to members of the Pearl River High School staff and especially the football team for joining us this afternoon.

Service 111 is a blacked-out 2021 Pierce commercial on a Freightliner chassis. What we need most on fires in areas where there are fewer fire hydrants is water. This apparatus carries 2,900 gallons of water and with a Waterous 1500 GPM pump, we will have no problems filling apparatus or using it to directly fight fire

This apparatus is very much an upgrade as it replaces one that has served our community for nearly two decades. While we hope it never has to be used, it is here and always ready to serve our community.
