I-59 FIERY CRASH

(VIDEO) Just after 8:30 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 units with assistance from St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1 (Slidell) responded to I-59 southbound at exit 5B for an 18-wheeler crash that resulted in a fire. The 18-wheeler, after crashing, ended up under the overpass. It appears that the driver was ejected. The driver was treated by EMS and transported to a trauma center via helicopter. The fire was extinguished and no other injuries were reported.
