Residential Structure Fire Pearl River, LA
Just around 10:30pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 units from St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 responded to the 65000 block of Hwy 41 Spur on a residential structure fire. Once on scene, units reported the home to be heavily involved with fire. The fire attack was initiated and additional support was requested from St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 and St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection District #7.
The fire was knocked down but the structure began to become unstable so considerations were made to keep firefighters safe. The fire was eventually placed under control and completely extinguished.
We are pleased to report that the two elderly occupants were able eacape safely with no injuries. Unfortunately, we are told that several dogs did not survive the fire. The American Red Cross was requested to the scene to offer support for the immediate needs of the occupants.
No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
