RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE
Residential Structure Fire Calhoun St. in the Town of Pearl River
PEARL RIVER, LA – On Friday, December 15, 2017, St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 responded to a residential structure fire in the 65000 block of Calhoun St. Apparatus and personnel arrived on scene within 2 minutes of the initial dispatch. When personnel arrived on scene they reported smoke and fire coming from the roof.
Personnel forced entry into the home and were able to knock down the fire in the attic. The fire was placed under control within 19 minutes of the initial fire attack. Majority of the fire was in the attic space with some smoke damage throughout the remainder of the home.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The fire was discovered by a passerby who called 9-1-1.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated at the time of this release.
No one was injured and fortunately, no pets were in the home.
