LESSONS FROM A TRAGEDY
What a heart breaking story coming out of New Orleans where 5 people died in a house fire including 3 young children. The main headline from nola.com says it all "Broadmoor fire kills 3 children, 2 adults in house without working smoke alarms".
This leads us to continue to harp on a program that we have been promoting and will continue to promote. The program is called Operation Save A Life which is the distribution and installation of FREE smoke alarms to ANYONE who is in need. Basically, there is NO excuse why every home can not have a working smoke alarm especially if you live in the Pearl River area and within St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11. As a matter of fact, many fire districts in St. Tammany Parish run this program as well and we are more than pleased to assist anyone in any way possible, no matter where you live.
Please read the news report and think about how devastating this would be if it happened to your family especially knowing that there are FREE smoke alarms available.
If you or anyone you know is in need of a FREE smoke alarm, do not hesitate to contact us. You can call us anytime at 985.863.3132, email us at contact@stfpd11.org or get more information and submit a request for installation by visiting our direct link to our Operation Save A Life page.
