RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE


At approximately 7:00am on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, units and personnel from St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11 in Pearl River, LA responded to a residential structure fire on south Acorn Ct in Pearl River, LA.

When the initial units arrived on scene, it was reported that heavy smoke was coming from the single wide trailer with several additions. Firefighters initially brought a hose line to the front door and made entry where they were quickly met by heavy smoke and heavy fire conditions. Water was put on to the fire initially from the exterior to cool the fire down and several minutes later firefighters were able to make entry to completely extinguish the fire.

The fire was placed under control in approximately 40 minutes after the initial units arrived on scene and units and personnel cleared the scene approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes after arriving on scene. In total 11 firefighters responded to the scene as well as 3 firefighting apparatus and an ambulance. No personnel were injured during firefighting operations.

The homeowner was not at home at the time of the fire and the cause of the fire was still under investigation at the time that St. Tammany Fire Protection District No.11 units and personnel cleared the scene.
