WATER RESCUE TRAINING

On Monday, July 11, 2023, we hosted a Swift Water & Flood Rescue class at our training facility. This course is taught by Paul Fraser who is a Water Rescue Educator & Marine Safety Professional that runs Gulf State Dive and Rescue - DiveandRescue.org . The next day, participants went on a field trip to the outskirts of Picayune, MS to a spot on the Pearl River that is perfect for hands on training. Participants learned how to throw ropes, swim to help a victim, operate small boats, pull victims from the water into a boat, and more.

Our guys are easy to pick out, they have the yellow helmets and the bright green vests.

Other agencies involved in this training were the City of Covington Fire Department, Donaldsonville, Louisiana Fire Department, Prairieville Fire Department, Fire Protection District No. 1 of West Feliciana Parish WFFD & Ascension Parish Fire District #1.
