On Saturday, April 27, 2024, we participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for A Soldier's Journey Home. Every year, a home is built somewhere in the country for a wounded veteran, and this year, the home was built right here in Pearl River. The home was built for Ret. Sgt. Ryan Major, who was wounded in combat.

Per A Soldier's Journey Home website, they build mortgage-free homes specially adapted for veterans with disabilities. The program is volunteer driven and is comprised primarily of current and retired firefighters and veterans.

Thank you, Sgt. Major for your service and sacrifice and welcome home!
