April 23 - 29, 2017, Chief of Operations Jack Dockery and Captain Mitchell Geissler made the trip to the Fire Department Instructor Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. We took numerous classes presented by many fire service professionals. Some of which whom literally write the books that we as firefighters read to learn to do the job both safely and efficiently. We will then sort through the material and information and see how it will benefit our fire district whether through training or policies and procedures.
The second part of the conference includes exhibits that literally take up every square inch of the Indiana Convention Center and the Lucas Oil stadium. These exhibits detailed every piece of equipment and the latest technology that we use and will use in the fire service.
The overall experience was amazing including partaking in the brotherhood that only firefighters and their families will truly understand.
