Frierson Rd. Pearl River, LA
On Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at approximately 5:50 PM while returning back to the station, Medic 112 spotted a large plume of thick, black smoke. Upon investigation, Medic 112 personnel discovered an abandoned structure fully involved in fire. The Pearl River Police Department was arriving on scene as well. Our dispatch center was immediately notified and additional apparatus and personnel were requested to the scene including mutual aid from St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1 (Slidell) for water.
Personnel and equipment arrived on scene and a fire attack was initiated. The situation was placed under control quickly and there was no immediate threat to nearby outbuildings and other structures. The fire was extinguished and the structure was a complete loss even before we arrived on scene.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
