EXTRICATION TRAINING

On Saturday, May 13, 2023 recruits from the Firefighter class along with fire district 11 personnel conducted vehicle extrication training. Many of our fire districts have major interstates and heavily traveled roadways. Unfortunately, we do have to deal with severe crashes from time to time. Vehicles that sustain heavy damage may require the use of extrication tools and equipment to remove (extricate) trapped patients safely. Vehicle extrication can be as simple as a quick door pop or could consist of literally removing the entire vehicle from around trapped patients.
